Something I Ate
lyrics by David "Gummy" Gershfeld

Through my dreams an eagle flew.
A suit tried to shoot her,
But the eagle, too elusive, was immune
To such abuse.

Behind the suit a lion roared,
Clawed his flesh and poured his blood.
High and fast the eagle soared,
Coming close, I climbed aboard.

She came to rest atop a tree
So tall I thought I'd fall.
The view was free and fair was foul
As the suit in the lion's bowel.

To feed his fire the lion climbed
Claw to bark and bow to bow.
Fearsome growl inspired flight.
Eagles get consumed by night.

Freaked that I was losing it,
My footing, hope was fleeting.
The lion climbed toward the smell,
My feet, my fear, I fell...

It must have been something I ate.
Activated my brain.
